​Notices have a code for your cancellation, revocation or suspension action, as shown in the excerpt below:

The fee to reinstate your driver license is $75.  You can pay online​.

​Contact the agency ordering your suspension to get a clearance before reinstating your driving privileges.

You can stop a suspension before it begins and avoid a reinstatement fee if we get a clearance notice before the effective date of the suspension.

Replacement License

You will need to make an appointment ​to apply for a replacement license at a DMV office

Renewal License

If your driver license expires during your suspension, you may apply for renewal once you reinstate your driving privileges, as long as you do it within one year of the expiration date.

You will need to get an original license if any of the following are true:

  • Your license expired more than a year ago;
  • DMV revoked your driving privileges; or
  • You’ve never had an Oregon Driver License.

You cannot get a driver license if another state has revoked or suspended your driving privileges.
  • Administrative Hearing - The notice you received from DMV will tell you if you have the right to an administrative hearing.
  • Implied Consent Hearing - If you have received an Implied Consent Combined Report, you are entitled to a hearing.

Hardship Permit

If your notice includes information about a hardship permit, you may be able to have driving privileges for work and for medical, alcohol, drug or gambling treatment.

Administrative Review or Hearing

If you decide to appeal the cancelation, revocation, or suspension, follow the instructions on your notice.
