Hydraulic Engineering Standards & Specifications

Specifications & Special Provisions

Access specifications and special provisions related to hydraulics engineering.

The Oregon Standard Specifications for Construction are the baseline requirements governing the methods, material, and equipment used in construction contracts administered by the Oregon Department of Transportation. The specifications provide instructions on:

  • How the prescribed work is to be performed, including material and equipment requirements and any restrictions or conditions on that performance.
  • How the quality and acceptability of the work will be determined.
  • Allowable tolerances and how deviations from these tolerances will be handled.
  • How payment for the work will be made; and how changed conditions are to be handled.

Standard Drawings

Access standard drawings related to hydraulics.

Standard drawings are:

  • Stamped by an ODOT engineer of record.
  • Backed by engineering analysis, calculations and or justification.
  • Available for public works projects.
  • Standardized and designers cannot modify them on a project-by-project basis.

Standard Details

Access standard details related to hydraulics.

Use standard details to quickly incorporate specificity to a project. Generally, these fit into one of three scenarios:

  1. A template needs project-specific data added.
  2. Trying out a new design style.
  3. An item is not used often, such that updates need to be added.
