Message from the Division Administrator

The Motor Carrier Transportation Division is continually developing innovative strategies to simplify regulatory processes and improve the way we do business in this state.
Throughout the division we're adopting ideas that bring efficiencies to government and the trucking industry. For example, our Green Light Preclearance Program saves time and money while increasing weigh station capacity by weighing trucks on the highway and sending a green light signal to those with transponders if they don't need to stop at a weigh station.
Also, our Oregon Trucking Online internet service brings permit processing, road-use tax reporting and payment, and other truck transactions as close as the nearest computer, making it easier for companies to keep on trucking in Oregon.

We hope you find our website helpful or take a moment to email comments regarding how to make it better. Welcome and thank you for visiting us on the Internet!
Amy Ramsdell, Administrator

Performance Measures

Motor Carrier Transportation Division staff and management monitor several performance measures, making adjustments to programs and processes as needed to ensure we are meeting agency and division goals. Several of the performance measures being monitored are in the MCTD Quarterly Business Review (currently under review).
Customer Satisfaction Survey
The Motor Carrier Transportation Division sends out a customer satisfaction survey every two years. Eleven different customer groups were asked “How are we doing?" and "How can we do a better job?”  As a Key Performance Measure, ODOT asks all survey respondents from DMV, MCTD and Ask ODOT to rate the Department on six aspects of service:
  • Timeliness.
  • Accuracy.
  • Helpfulness.
  • Expertise.
  • Availability of information.
  • Overall service.
