The state of Oregon is working with federal, state and local partners to safely and efficiently remove hazard trees and debris resulting from the 2020 Oregon wildfires. The Oregon Departments of Transportation, Environmental Quality and Emergency Management are jointly leading this effort as the
Debris Management Task Force.

Rock scaling, according to the Federal Highway Administration, is the process of removing loose or potentially unstable material (or a small section of slope) that might dislodge and/or fall.
Road damage: wildfire can damage the asphalt on a road.
It can cause cracking, potholes, melting and in very intense heat asphalt can burn.
