Screening, Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) Workgroup

Overview

In 2014 and 2015 the Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) Workgroup met to work on the claims-based version of the CCO SBIRT metric. Starting in 2019, that metric has been retired and replaced with an EHR-based SBIRT metric. This webpage is being maintained for transparency. Information about the new EHR-based SBIRT metric can be found on the CCO Incentive Metrics webpage

The SBIRT Workgroup was convened by the Oregon Health Authority as a working group of the Metrics and Scoring Committee Technical Advisory Group to allow for more focused discussion of SBIRT implementation. The SBIRT Workgroup has addressed billing and documentation challenges, best practices, incorporating SBIRT for adolescents, and more.
