CCOs and publicly funded health programs are required to report on several quality and incentive metrics, and they receive financial incentives for achieving performance benchmarks. They are engaged in many improvement projects including those outlined in their transformation and quality strategies and performance improvement projects. Quality improvement strategies and tools can help identify inefficiencies, ineffective care and preventable errors to then influence system changes. Techniques involve assessing performance and using findings to inform change.
