You are invited to celebrate birthdays, holidays and other memorable occasions with your loved one on campus. The Kirkbride Family dining room in Salem and the Valley Family dining room in Junction City offer a more personal setting for these celebrations. While there, you can enjoy a delicious meal prepared by the hospital’s Food Service Department or a cake ordered especially for the occasion*. The family dining rooms are available by reservation only, which ensures staff are available to help make your experience a memorable one.

Please make your reservation at least two weeks in advance so our Food Services staff have time to plan your meal. Requests made with less than two weeks’ notice will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Menu Planning & What to Expect
Our Food Services staff take pride in the food they prepare. Staff will discuss menu options with you, and meals are served family style – just the way you would eat at home. We will accommodate special requests or custom menus when possible. Each meal includes an entrée and choice of sides. Dessert and beverages like juice, coffee and tea can be added to any meal for an additional fee. The total cost for the meal will depend on the food items ordered and the number of guests.
If your visit includes a birthday or other celebration, you can order a customized cake for an additional fee.

We hope to make your visit feel special and memorable. When you arrive for your visit, you will find the table set with a table cloth and dishware* to accommodate the meal you have chosen. After you complete your meal, staff will clear the dishes and pack leftovers for you to take home. Patients cannot take leftovers back to the unit with them.
*Staff will need to account for all dishware before dessert is served and again at the end of your meal.
