August 10, 2021 Update:
----------------------------------
Oregon State Hospital had to suspend in-person visitation in March of 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We know how important visitation with friends and family is for patients and their recovery and how hard this restriction has been on everyone. While we offer video visits as a substitute, we know they are not the same.
We understand that with many COVID-19 restrictions lifting throughout the state, patients and their families are looking forward to resuming in-person visits once again. We are excited to announce that we're planning to resume in-person visitation in mid- to late- August. Many details of what visitation will look like — including an official start date — are still being worked out. We will share more information as soon as it becomes available. In the meantime, here is what we know so far:
In-person visitation will not be available to patients on admissions and Persons Under Investigation (PUI) units. PUI units are where we monitor patients who exhibit symptoms of COVID-19.
Video visits will continue to be available to all patients.
Visitors will schedule visits in advance. Visitors should not call to request a visit yet, as we are still developing the scheduling process.
Visitation days and hours will be different than what we previously offered.
Patients can visit with up to two people at a time.
We are requiring patients and visitors to wear masks for the duration of the visit.
No food or drink may be consumed during the visit.
Visitors must pass the same health screening our employees receive.
We will have separate visitation areas for patients based on their vaccine status and level of vulnerability to COVID-19.
We will share more information as soon as it becomes available. In the meantime, if you have questions about the information shared here, please call OSH Family Services at 503-947-8109 in Salem and 541-465-2785 in Junction City.
