Temporary Rule

Healthcare Worker Influenza Vaccination Reporting Deadline Extended

Need for the Rule

On May 1, 2020, the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) temporarily extended the reporting of Healthcare Worker Vaccination data from May 31, 2020 to September 30, 2020. All Oregon hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, dialysis facilities, and free-standing ambulatory surgical centers are required to report influenza vaccinations, documented contraindications, and informed declination rates for staff. The rule needed to be extended temporarily so facilities could quickly diagnose, treat, and institute control measures to improve patient outcomes and slow the spread of COVID-19. Unless a permanent rule is adopted, reporting will revert to its original due date of May 31 in 2021.

This temporary rule is effective May 1, 2020 through September 29, 2020. The temporary data deadline is September 30, 2020.
