County Data Project

Background and Purpose

The Oregon ScreenWise Program works with a statewide network of providers that offer breast, cervical and hereditary cancer screening and diagnostic services for uninsured and underinsured patients. Our mission is to reduce cancer burden and health inequities in Oregon through early detection, evidence-based care, risk factor screening, education, linkage to medical treatment, and surveillance for the public.

ScreenWise is committed to making the data we collect easy to access and understand. The County Data Project offers statewide, regional, and county-specific, data-driven snapshots of population, poverty, services accessed, race, insurance status and ScreenWise presence. Our hope is to spark meaningful conversation and action between providers, the public, and policymakers, for a healthier Oregon.

The County Data Project begins with a statewide profile and a look at how ScreenWise has worked to make Oregon a place where optimal health is attainable for everyone.

County Profiles

County profiles are organized into five regions: Eastern Oregon, Central Oregon, Southwestern Oregon, Portland Metro, Willamette Valley & North Coast. The intention behind using these five regions is to honor the cultural and geographical differences existing in each setting. Through this, barriers and outreach challenges specific to each region may be identified, which will ultimately help create population-specific solutions.
