In the 2022 legislative session, the Oregon Legislature passed Senate Bill 1549, which created a program requiring authorizations be obtained by temporary staffing agencies that operate in Oregon. "Temporary staffing agency" is an entity that operates for the purpose of providing temporary work to personnel (licensed or unlicensed) providing health care services or assistance with activities of daily living for or on behalf of entities that engage the temporary staffing agency.
Mandatory authorizations for temporary staffing agencies begin on July 1, 2023.
The Health Licensing Office is preparing to begin the rulemaking process and needs contacts for businesses that would like to be involved and receive information about the program.
