Rulemaking for Genetic Counseling Program

​The Health Licensing Office (HLO) is preparing to engage in rulemaking related to the licensing of genetic counselors. The licensing program was created by House Bill 2619 (2021).

A Rules Advisory Committee (RAC) will be created to seek feedback related to the rules and their potential fiscal impact from external content experts and those who are likely to be affected by the rule.

The RAC will meet on August 10, 2021, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. via Microsoft Teams videoconference. The RAC will be hosted at the HLO located at 1430 Tandem Ave., NE, Suite 180, Salem, OR 97301-2192.

Send completed interest forms no later than August 1, 2021, by 12 p.m. (noon) to Anne Thompson at anne.p.thompson@dhsoha.state.or.us. Proposed rule text and other materials will be provided at least one week prior ot the first meeting.

RAC meeitngs are public meetings and may include time for public comment, however; only members of the committee may fully participate in the RAC meetings.
