Open Enrollment email messages from PEBB to employees

Oct. 31

Time is running out!

Open Enrollment closes at midnight, and some PEBB members still haven't enrolled. All of us must enroll in a 2017 health plan - even if it's the one we have now. Members who don't enroll will have surcharges by default in 2017. And members who don't take a health assessment and sign up for the HEM program will have additional deductibles. Don't pay for inaction. Enroll NOW!

There's no need to panic; you still have 3 days to enroll!

The enrollment system is available anytime you want to log in until midnight Monday, Oct. 31. The Open Enrollment Website is available 24/7. And our member services team staffs the phones today until 5 and Monday night until 10.

Here's a collection of quick, helpful tips - all our Open Enrollment messages in one place, with “how to” guidance on your Benefit Summary and health assessment Certificate of Completion.

Here's all you need to do by Oct. 31!

That's it! We can't verify your health assessment. Your Certificate of Completion does that, and your Benefit Summary verifies your enrollment, so print a copy of both.

We're here help - especially during Open Enrollment!

You may be enrolling for benefits outside the 8-to-5 window when a question occurs that's not answered on our website. We want you to get the answer. Call us at 503-373-1102. We're staffing the phones until 8 tonight and until 10 Monday night. The lines get busy as we near the end of Open Enrollment, so please leave a message, and we'll return the call (one message will do it). Easier still - send an email to inquiries.pebb@dhsoha.state.or.us. We do our best to get back to you within 48 business hours.

We all must enroll for 2017 health coverage by Oct. 31!

This is a mandatory Open Enrollment for all PEBB members. When you enroll, you can keep or change your health plan and avoid additional costs next year. Plus, if you complete the health assessment in your current (2016) health plan and sign up for the 2017 Health Engagement Model (HEM) during Open Enrollment, you avoid a higher deductible and get $17.50 taxable cash in your monthly pay.

Remember: Midnight Oct. 31 is the deadline to complete your enrollment and health assessment!

Joining the 2017 HEM takes just 3 steps by Oct. 31!

  1. Complete the health assessment on your current (2016) health plan's website.
  2. Enroll in a 2017 health plan in the PEBB enrollment system.
  3. Enroll in the 2017 Health Engagement Model (HEM) program when you enroll in your 2017 health plan.

Joining HEM gives you $17.50 in your monthly pay in 2017. Not joining HEM gives you an additional $100/person deductible (to $300/family) in your 2017 health plan. Note: Only employees (not covered spouses or partners) can participate in 2017.

You can make some plan changes outside of Open Enrollment!

Open Enrollment is the one time each year we can all make plan changes, and they go into effect January 1 at the earliest. With life changes that can change your tax status - like getting married, having a baby or adopting a child - don't wait for Open Enrollment. Submit a midyear change form to your agency within 30 days so the new enrollment goes into effect as soon as possible. Do it before Open Enrollment!
