The Oregon Army National Guard has taken a proactive approach to providing holistic care to service members and their families.

We offer guidance and post-vention services following a suicide event (Ideations, Attempts, and Completions).

We strive to be a contact for you to reach and provide resource referral, at any time to:

Increase Unit Resiliency
Improve Unit Readiness by Reducing the Risk of Suicide
Provide Prevention & Intervention Training
Briefings in Support of the Army’S Suicide Prevention Program

"Ideation"

Suicidal thoughts, or suicidal ideation, means thinking about or planning suicide. Thoughts can range from a detailed plan to a fleeting consideration. It does not include the final act of suicide.

"Attempts"

A suicide attempt is when someone harms themselves with the intent to end their life, but they do not die as a result of their actions.

"Completions"

[Suicide] Completion is defined as death caused by self-directed injurious behavior with intent to die as a result of the behavior.
