  • The Oregon National Guard has a long tradition and history dating back to 1843
Oregon Military DepartmentThe National Guard is found in both the United States Constitution and the Oregon Constitution. The tradition and history of the Oregon National Guard was grounded on the basis of its mission statement; "A ready force equipped and trained to respond to any contingency. When we are needed, we are there."

The Oregon Military Department's purpose is to administer, house, equip and train the Oregon National Guard - a ready force to support the Governor during unrest or natural disaster and as a reserve force to the United States Air Force and the United States Army.
SCAM ALERT: The Oregon National Guard has been made aware of an ongoing scam in which someone is posing as a member of the Oregon National Guard trying to sell a car/truck online. The scammer uses several fictitious names and ranks, claiming to be from D Company, 141st Brigade Support Battalion. However, there is not a Company D in that battalion. The scammer claims to be selling the car/truck because they are deploying overseas. Currently none of the units in the 141st Brigade Support Battalion are scheduled to deploy.
