January 1, 2014-

All operators of Class I and III ATVs must have an ATV Safety Education Card.  Youth under 15 are currently required to have their Safety Education Card, which will be issued after taking both an online and hands-on rider training course.

January 1, 2012 – Oregon law say youth under the age of 16 (15 and under) must have both on-line and hands-on training or evaluation for each class of ATV they operate.
June 29, 2009 - OPRD has published new guidelines for ATV Safety Training in Oregon. The new OPRD Minimum Standards for ATV Training provides nine evaluation points that all course providers in Oregon, both quad and motorcycle, must include in their training curriculums. Contact OPRD Safety Education Coordinator at 503-986-0585 to have your course evaluated for OPRD approval. NOTE: ASI & MSF courses have already been evaluated and are OPRD approved.
