Publication contains information about the community of Upper Mill Creek, from the beginnings of the small community in 1886 through its inclusion in the city of The Dalles watershed in 1912, effectively ending occupation of the area.  Includes histories of local families and events taken from primarily oral histories.

An autobiography of Lulu D. Crandall as extracted from The Dalles Chronicle from Oct. 18, 1928 through April 11, 1929.  Provides information about the life of Crandall, a historian of Wasco County, and information about the formation of Wasco County, early buildings, early settlement, schools, and events through the 1910s.  Information was compiled from primarily Crandall’s reminiscences.

A scholarly study of transportation and economic development in the Mid-Columbia area.

The authors describe the exploration, geology, water, rail, and road development of the region, including their relationship to economic development of the area. 
McNeal, William H. History of Wasco County, Oregon. The Dalles: 195(-). Photographs, Index. 471 pages.
Contains a history of Wasco County from the mid-19th century through the mid-20th century.  Includes histories of The Dalles, the Pony Express, histories of specific families and individuals, early directory listings, geology, and a list of veterans.  Also includes the personal religious philosophy and stories of the author.  Many of the sources are compiled from primary and local secondary sources.

Provides information about specific places and biographical information for people and families who lived in the Upper Mill Creek, Matney, Sam John’s Mill, and Brook’s Meadows area.

Publication contains a photograph index, biographies of families of Wasco County based on nineteenth century federal census information, information about centennial buildings, farms, and organizations of the county, and a brief history of Sherman County towns.  Information was compiled from primary, secondary, and oral history sources.

Provides a brief history of the first 100 years of the Wasco County Fair, including information about early Euro-American settlement of the area, and the development of southern Wasco County.  Compiled primarily through oral histories, newspaper articles and secondary sources.
