 Opportunity for Public Comment on Federally Funded Projects

The following cities or counties have received a grant for the projects listed through the federal Historic Preservation Fund, administered by the State Historic Preservation Office.
This page serves to make the public aware of the project and solicit comments pursuant to Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act. The comment period is open for 30 days from the date listed for each project below. To provide comments or learn more information about the projects contact Tracy Schwartz, 503-986-0677.
The National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 authorizes a program of federal matching grants, known as the Historic Preservation Fund, to assist the various states in carrying our historic preservation activities. The Program is sponsored by the US Department of the Interior, National Park Service, and in Oregon, is administered through the Oregon State Historic Preservation Office.

Dayton, Yamhill County - Dated April 23, 2019

Brookside Cemetery

Repair approximately 91monuments. Complete remote sensing, to determine evidence of burials in an undocumented area of the cemetery. There will be no ground disturbance.

Astoria, Clatsop County - Dated May 2, 2019

Door, porch, siding, roof repairs on the main house and shed roof repair.

1377 Kensington Ave

Replace current door with more compatible door.

996 12th Street

Replace out of character windows with with wood windows of appropriate historic character. NOTE: This award is pending National Park Service approval of the change from non-contributing to contributing to the Shively-McClure Historic District.

Jefferson, Marion County - Dated May 2, 2019

114 N Main St - Conser House

Complete porch and gutter repairs and install insulation.

Coos Bay, Coos County - Dated May 22, 2019

1049 N Front Street

Make siding repairs, construct new shutter to match original and paint.
