Recreational Trails Program 2016 grant cycle opens Dec. 15

The 2016 Recreational Trails Program (RTP) Grant cycle opens Dec. 15, the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department (OPRD) announces. The department has scheduled four grant workshops in January to assist potential applicants on the grant program.

RTP is a federal funded reimbursement grant program designed to help fund motorized and non-motorized recreational trail projects, including new trail construction, property acquisition, trail restoration, and development and rehabilitation of trailhead facilities.

The program requires a letter of intent, due by Jan. 8. OPRD will accept grant applications through March 4, 2016.The grant workshops will be held the following days and locations: 

  • Jan. 5, 10 a.m.-12 p.m., webinar
  • Jan. 12, 10 a.m.-12 p.m., La Grande
  • Jan. 19, 1-3 p.m., Springfield
  • Jan. 26, 10 a.m.-12 p.m., Portland
