Senate Bill 192 work group to meet Nov. 5 in Salem

Nov. 2, 2015

Salem, OR-Allowing all-terrain vehicles to operate on state highways will be discussed at the first Senate Bill 192 work group meeting, to be hosted by the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department (OPRD) on Nov. 5. The meeting is set from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at Cascade Hall at the Oregon State Fairgrounds in Salem, 2330 17th St. NE.

SB 192 directs OPRD to convene a work group to examine options allowing users of ATVs to operate on state highways. OPRD's initial interpretation of SB 192 is for the working group to assist communities, riding clubs and ATV proponents in their efforts to help ATV riders access amenities such as motels, restaurants and gas stations from nearby trailheads.
