Salmonberry Coalition to meet Oct. 9 in Buxton

Sept. 28, 2015

Buxton, OR - The Salmonberry Coalition will meet Oct. 9 to present updates on planning and paying for the proposed 86-mile Salmonberry Trail that will connect the cities of Tillamook and Banks. The meeting is open to the public.

The meeting is set from 10 a.m. to noon in the Mt. Dale Meeting Hall at LL Stub Stewart State Park, 30380 NW Hwy 47, Buxton. The agenda includes an update on the concept plan that will guide resource management and recreational use on the trail, as well as updates on governance, grant projects and the Tillamook Forest Heritage Trust's capitol campaign fundraising plan.

The Salmonberry Trail will connect eight cities and two counties, passing by the Oregon coastline, fisheries, farm fields and the rugged Coast Range. The route follows the Port of Tillamook Bay Railway, which closed in 2007 after massive storm damage.
