OPRD seeks candidates to serve on trails committee

Sept. 10, 2015

Oregon Parks and Recreation Department (OPRD) is seeking to establish a list of candidates to serve on the Oregon Recreation Trails Advisory Council (ORTAC) for Congressional District 3, which encompasses Multnomah County and the northern portion of Clackamas County.

The Council consists of seven members, with at least one from each congressional district and at least two from counties bordering the ocean shore. Members of the council are appointed by the OPRD commission for four-year terms and are eligible for reappointment.

ORTAC holds four meeting per year throughout the state. The council advises the commission and the department on subjects related to non-motorized recreational trails. Members review applications for state designated trails and may serve on a variety of other OPRD committees responsible for reviewing grant-funded proposals and developing statewide plans.

Those interested in applying must submit an ORTAC Interest Form by Oct. 2. For more information or to obtain an Interest Form, contact Rocky Houston at 503-986-0750 or by email at rocky.houston@oreogn.gov.
