Fire-Resistant Plants

Contrary to popular belief, defensible space around your home does not mean getting rid of all the plants and trees. Thanks to nature, there are plants that are more resistive to fire. When they are properly spaced and maintained these plants can really add some spice to your landscaping.

Our partners at Oregon State University have put together a fantastic guide on which plants, shrubs, and trees work well in the Pacfic Northwest. You can find more information and a downloadable guide on their website.

To help Oregonians learn about fire-resitant plants, give our short quiz a go!
