Oregon State Capitol 75th Anniversary

This is an exhibit that celebrates the 75th anniversary of the Oregon State Capitol Building. The images and digitized documents are all from the collections of the Oregon State Library.

These fascinating examples of local currency issued in Oregon during the Great Depression include scrip issued on sheepskin and buckskin.

Governor Tom McCall 

OSL digitized these documents in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of McCall’s birth. Some of the key issues for Oregon’s 30th governor were land use planning and environmental protection, which are reflected in these documents.
