CJIS Security

The Oregon State Police CJIS Division conducts CJIS Security background checks on individuals (including police, corrections, and reserve officers) that have been hired, as well as vendors and contractors, who require access into secure areas. A national fingerprint-based criminal history record check will be performed upon assignment of personnel to a facility with access to state and national CJIS systems. Criteria for approving access to state and national CJIS systems have been established in accordance with the CJIS Security Policy v. 5.6 (link below).
