Fire Prevention Education Training.png

The Oregon State Fire Marshal’s Fire Prevention Education Unit offers training to support professionals with fire prevention and awareness efforts. These trainings include many different topics from cooking and electrical fire safety to smoke and carbon monoxide laws. The OSFM strives to provide the tools and education to better the lives of Oregonians and make communities safer.

Below you will find current offerings; this page will be updated as new opportunities arise.

Smoke Alarms

The Oregon Office of State Fire Marshal's smoke alarm installation program provides smoke alarms to Oregon fire agencies to install in residences without them. Training is required for agencies to participate in the program, and for agencies who have not taken the training since 2017.

The OSFM is a certified continuing education provider through the Oregon real estate agency. The OSFM offers training on smoke and carbon monoxide alarm statutes and rules and how they impact your clients.
