Public Comment Sought
2014 Water Conservation, Reuse  & Storage Grant Requests

The Oregon Water Resources Department is seeking public comment on applications received for the Water Conservation, Reuse and Storage Grant program.  The Grant Program, established by Senate Bill 1069 (2008), is designed to fund the qualifying costs of planning studies that evaluate the feasibility of water conservation, re-use or storage projects.

The Department solicited grant applications from March 10 through April 11, 2014.  Twelve applications were received, requesting a total of $589,569 in project funding, which exceeds the $156,340 of funding that is available for this grant cycle. Since the funding requests exceed the amount of funding available, some applications will not be funded or will receive less than the amount requested.

Entities that applied for a grant include individuals, cities, counties, irrigation districts, watershed councils, soil and water conservation district and a port district.

A multi-agency team reviewed and scored the eligible applications using criteria established by administrative rule. All applications had components that were considered to be of merit for funding from the grant program.  The review team scores and the resulting funding priority levels for each applicant are summarized in the table below.

The public is invited to review and comment on the applications and review team recommendations. Information on how to access each application is provided below:
