EDX Basic Concepts
This two-hour online course is offered once a month. It is recommended for those who are new to PERS reporting duties (less than six months of PERS reporting experience). This course covers:
- The responsibilities of the Web Administrator and Payroll Specialist roles.
- How to report employee hours and wages to PERS.
- How to correct employee demographics (DTL1) through a demographic correction request (DCR) and how to correct wage records (DTL2) through demographic and adjustment reports.
- Hands-on skills practice in EDX.

EDX Advanced Topics
This two-hour online course is offered once a month. It is recommended for those who have mastered the skills in the EDX Basic Concepts course and have more than six months of PERS reporting experience. This course covers:
- Reporting leave without pay (LWOP).
- Determining and reporting USERRA-qualified military service.
- Completing Work List items including salary breakdown (SBD), employment confirmation, termination requests, unused sick leave, employer data verification request, service retiree, and disability retiree.
- Changing member account contribution methods.
- Determining employee status.
- Police and Fire Unit program.
- Membership eligibility rules.
- Reporting an employee’s retirement.
