​EDX Basic Concepts

This two-hour online course is offered once a month. It is recommended for those who are new to PERS reporting duties (less than six months of PERS reporting experience). This course covers: 

  • ​The responsibilities of the Web Administrator and Payroll Specialist roles.
  • How to report employee hours and wages to PERS.
  • How to correct employee demographics (DTL1) through a demographic correction request (DCR) and how to correct wage records (DTL2) through demographic and adjustment reports.
  • Hands-on skills practice in EDX.

EDX Advanced Topics

This two-hour online course is offered once a month. It is recommended for those who have mastered the skills in the EDX Basic Concepts course and have more than six months of PERS reporting experience. This course covers: 

  • ​Reporting leave without pay (LWOP). 
  • Determining and reporting USERRA-qualified military service.
  • Completing Work List items including salary breakdown (SBD), employment confirmation, termination requests, unused sick leave, employer data verification request, service retiree, and disability retiree.
  • Changing member account contribution methods.
  • Determining employee status.
  • Police and Fire Unit program.
  • Membership eligibility rules.
  • Reporting an employee’s retirement.
