Updating your purchase request

If you previously requested and received a written benefit estimate, were qualified to make a purchase, and subsequently decided on a different retirement date, you should:

1. Request an updated written estimate.

OR

2. Request an updated purchase letter. Call PERS toll free at 888-320-7377 or email PERS. The email must include your effective retirement date.

Waiting time purchase amounts typically will not change. Other purchase amounts such as forfeited time may increase or decrease based on your effective retirement date.

Online estimates do not generate purchase letters. If you created an online estimate, you should request a written estimate from PERS.

3. Request a new purchase letter. Call PERS toll free at 888-320-7377 or email PERS. The email must include your effective retirement date.
