Renewal Cycles

Nonprescription Drug Outlets

Convenience Store, Grocery & Gift Shop, Medical Gas Outlet & Vending Machines expire 1/31 Annually 

Renewal forms for the 2020-2021 registration cycle will be mailed in early November.  Your location may not sell any nonprescription medications after January 31st until your registration has been renewed. 
 
If your renewal is postmarked after December 31st, you will be subject to the delinquent fee as noted on your renewal form.  
 
If you have not received your renewal notice by December 1st,  contact our office at 971-673-0001 or email us at pharmacy.licensing@oregon.gov.  A duplicate renewal notice will not be issued unless requested. 

​PLEASE NOTE:   If you have submitted your payment and renewal form, your cancelled check is your receipt.  You, or your distributer, can check the status of your license on our new, real-time, online verification system.
 
Has there been an owner change or location change for your establishment? If so, you are required to complete an new application​ and submit the appropriate application fee. Please be advised, owner/location change fees are separate transactions from your annual renewal fee.

All Pharmacies, Community Health Clinics & Correctional Facilities expire 3/31 Annually

2019 Pharmacist Continuing Education FAQs

 

(Law CE is no longer offered by the Oregon Board of Pharmacy)

 
You, or your employer, can check the status of your license on our real-time online verification system at:
https://obop.oregon.gov/LicenseeLookup/.
 
If you have had an address or employment change since the last renewal cycle, and you haven´t updated your information with the Board,
submit updated hereBe advised, any change of address, or change of employment must be submitted to the Board within 15 days of the change.

Certified Pharmacy Technicians

Certified Oregon Pharmacy Technician licenses now expire June 30th of even years!  

 

Renewal information for the 2020-2022 renewal cycle will be mailed in March of 2020. 

 
**LICENSE RENEWAL INFORMATION**
 
Prior to renewing your license, 20 hours of Continuing Education (CE) must be completed.*   If you are audited and it is found that you did not complete the required Continuing Education, you will be subject to disciplinary action.  
 
• Your CE must be completed during the period of July 1, 2018 - June 30, 2020. 
 Required CE includes:
        2 hours of Pharmacy Law
        2 hours of Patient Safety or Medication Error Prevention
        16 hours of your choice of relevant pharmacy CE or Board approved on-site training
 
The Board will accept two hours of CE law from either the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), Continuing Medical Education (CME)  or Board approved programs.  The law CE programs may contain information on State or Federal regulations such as DEA, FDA, HIPPA or Medicare part D.  Some other suggested websites to visit are www.powerpak.com, www.cecity.com and www.rxschool.com.  The Board of Pharmacy also has the one hour CE Law exam available on our website annually.
 
You, or your employer, can check the status of your license on our online verification system.
 
If you have had an address or employment change since the last renewal cycle, and you haven´t updated your information with the Board, please submit an
address change form, or submit your information online. Be advised, any change of address, or change of employment must be submitted to the Board within 15 days of the change.
 
If you currently hold a Certified Oregon Pharmacy Technician License please do not complete a new application.
