You probably already know that Oregon BottleDrop is pretty cool: more than 50 recycling facilities around the state make it easy and fast to return your cans and bottles for cash.

But did you know that money accrued in an Oregon BottleDrop account can go directly into an Oregon College Savings Plan or Oregon ABLE Savings Plan account? That’s right: you can transfer funds from your BottleDrop account directly – even automatically! – into an account dedicated to saving for your future.

Here’s how it works: Oregon College Savings Plan or Oregon ABLE participants can link their savings accounts through a sign-up page in their BottleDrop account. They can then manually move funds from the BottleDrop account or set up recurring transfers, which are completed by BottleDrop at the end of each month. Multiple Oregon College Savings Plan or Oregon ABLE accounts can be connected to a single BottleDrop account, further streamlining the contribution process.

Even better: BottleDrop account holders can save for themselves, for their kids, for their grandkids, or as a gift to anyone with an Oregon College Savings Plan or Oregon ABLE account.

If you don’t have an Oregon College Savings Plan or Oregon ABLE account, learn more about our savings programs. And if you’re ready to sign up for a BottleDrop account, just have your Oregon College Savings Plan or Oregon ABLE account number handy.
