Update Oregon inspector certification renewals extended to June 30
All Oregon Inspector Certifications (OIC) were due for renewal on June 1, 2023. If you have not renewed your OIC and paid the required renewal fee, your OIC has expired. If your OIC has expired you may not continue to work under the expired certification. The division is extending the period for renewal of your OIC to
June 30, 2023. If you do not renew your OIC by this date, you will be required to apply to take the OIC class and pass the OIC certification examination in order to obtain a new certificate.
Code change and OIC renewal requirements
Inspectors and plans examiners must complete division-approved continuing education (i.e., code change courses or high-priority training provided by the state) related to the scope of work allowed under each code certification.
If you do not complete the required code change class before your certification expires, you will be required to reapply and pass the division exam.
