Help with groceries

Free food events
Some ODHS offices host free food and resource events in local communities. Everyone is welcome.

SNAP food benefits
SNAP provides monthly benefits to help you buy food. States are unable to issue benefits after Nov. 1, 2025 until the federal government shutdown ends or funding is provided - but you can still apply or renew. Doing this now will help you get your benefits faster when we can send them again.

WIC program
WIC helps children under age 5, people who are pregnant or postpartum, and breastfeeding moms get healthy food and more. Foster parents and relative caregivers of a child under age 5 can also apply for WIC.

Summer EBT
Summer EBT is a grocery benefits program to help families buy food for their school-aged children during summer when school is out.

People 60+ or living with a disability

The Aging and Disability Resource Connection of Oregon (855-673-2372) can help you find local meal programs and food boxes in your area.

Community meal programs
Free or low-cost meals for older adults and people with disabilities are available at local community sites operated by Area Agencies on Aging at places like community centers, churches, and more.

Home delivered meals
You can find free or low-cost home-delivered meal programs and food boxes in your area, including Meals on Wheels and Medicaid-funded Home Delivered Meals.

Senior Farm Direct Nutrition Program
People age 62 or older who meet income requirements can get vouchers to buy fresh, local produce at some farmers markets and stands.
