Payment plan options

If you can't pay your balance in full, please don't panic or ignore it, hoping it will go away. We understand that many people deal with financial hardships due to losing a job, health issues, or permanent or temporary disabilities. Owing money to the government can be frightening, but we're here to help you.

Even if you're unable to pay your entire balance, you should pay what you can until you receive a bill from us.

We offer payment plans up to 36 months, visit Revenue Online to set up a payment plan . If you are unable to set up a payment plan using Revenue Online, call us.

If your account has been assigned to a private collection agency, contact them to discuss payments or to set up a payment plan. Visit our private collection firm page for more information.

What if I can’t pay within 36 months?

Submit a Statement of Financial Condition form, along with all required documentation, through Revenue Online if you require more than 36 months to pay in full.

If you are an individual owing tax and experiencing a temporary financial hardship such as temporary loss of job or temporary disability, contact us at 503-945-8200 to apply for temporary uncollectible status. Temporary uncollectible status is not available for businesses or customers owing Other Agency Account (OAA) debt.

If you are an individual owing tax and experiencing a longer hardship you may qualify for suspended collection status. Oregon law has specific requirements to qualify. ​Yes, you can set up automatic payments that are linked to your payment plan via Automated Clearing House (ACH). There are two options to set up an ACH payment plan:

  • Set up your ACH payment plan through Revenue Online. You'll provide your banking information in the process of establishing your payment plan.
  • You can also call us and request an ACH payment plan. However, you will have to fill out a form with your banking information and return it to us or provide your banking information on Revenue Online after we have set up your payment plan.
