Agency Request Budget

In the last two legislative sessions, the Legislature allocated nearly $1.6 billion in housing and homelessness initiatives across multiple state agencies. Since then:

  • 70,000 people provided with homeless services in just one year
  • 10,200 affordable rental units created or preserved
  • 500 new homeownership units created
  • 1,100 households kept out of foreclosure through the Homeowner Assistance Fund
  • 5,000 people helped with financial education and counseling via local homeownership centers
  • 985 new homeowners through the Oregon Residential Loan program

2025-27 Agency Request Budget

As we look forward to the next biennium, we are developing a comprehensive draft budget request to address key housing and homelessness priorities in alignment with Governor Kotek’s continued focus on delivering outcomes. Your partnership and feedback are crucial during this process.

Upcoming virtual town halls

We will collect input from partners in a few ways, beginning with virtual town halls. During each event, OHCS staff will provide additional details and welcome partner input on focused topics.

Town halls will be recorded and there will be other opportunities to share your feedback. We will publish a survey to gather input, and you can email questions to housinginfo@oregon.gov.

Affordable Rental Housing Agency Request Budget Survey

The survey should take about 20-30 minutes to complete and will be open until Friday, May 24, 2024. The survey asks questions about the preservation of affordable rental housing and permanent supportive housing.

These questions are similar to those covered at the preservation, portfolio stabilization, and permanent supportive housing town hall and your feedback will inform OHCS' 2025-27 Agency Request Budget where possible.
