About PSW new worker orientations
All Personal Support Workers (PSWs) are required to complete a PSW Orientation within 90 days of receiving their provider number. Orientation may be taken in-person or online. Once you have completed your orientation the completion date will be recorded in the Oregon Home Care Commission Registry.
Online orientation is now available
An online orientation will require you to have access to a computer, the Internet, and an active email address. The Personal Support Worker Online Orientation is only available on iLearnOregon. iLearnOregon is the State of Oregon's website for online learning.
The online orientation will take about 3 hours to complete. You can stop and start the orientation, you don’t have to complete it all at one time. The online orientation has an audio feature if you have a speaker on your computer. If you prefer to read the material instead of listening to it, follow the instructions in the course to enable Closed Captioning (CC). Once you have successfully completed the orientation a certificate will be available for printing.
To register for online orientation:
- Complete the form located at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/QLDMGKX. Do not register from your phone or tablet, register using the computer you will be using for the training.
- After you complete registration by filling out all required fields, a document will be displayed with instructions on how to sign up for iLearnOregon and complete the online orientation.
- Save or print these instructions so you can reference them in the future.
In-person orientation is also available
In-person orientation takes 3 hours to complete and is available in locations across the state. If your location is not shown below, check back periodically or consider taking the online orientation.
Due to limited room capacity, you must register in advance for all in-person orientations.
To register for in-person orientation:
Simply click on the link to the right of the Orientation you want to attend and complete all survey questions. When you complete the survey questions you are registered for the Orientation.
