Shutter Creek Correctional Institution (SCCI) is a 254-bed minimum security prison located on the Oregon Coast at North Bend and is home to the Oregon SUMMIT Program. Prior to its conversion to a prison in 1990, the site was an Air National Guard radar station. The institution is staffed by 100 staff members and contractors who provide supervision, programming, and support for 100 general population inmates and 154 inmates in the Oregon SUMMIT Program. The main programs offered at SCCI are Work Programs, Oregon SUMMIT, Education/GED, Alcohol and Drug Education, Process Groups, 12-Step Meetings, Cognitive Restructuring, and Anger Management. Inmates housed at SCCI in the general population are minimum custody inmates who are within four years of their release date. These inmates work at jobs either on the institution grounds or on off site work crews. For more information, click on the link to Work Crews below.
