Oregon's diverse and specialized agriculture industry is getting a boost in the form of federal dollars stemming from the 2008 Farm Bill. The money, provided to the Oregon Department of Agriculture for disbursement to successful applicants, will provide assistance to producers of mint, potatoes, grass seed, wine, and pears. To a state like Oregon, where no single commodity dominates overall agricultural production, any funds that help specialty crops is quite welcome...

Noxious Weed Symposium - Registration now open
The 2008 Inter-agency Noxious Weed Symposium will be held on December 2, 3, and 4, 2008 in Corvallis at the La Sells Stewart Center. There is a discount for early registration, but your payment must be submitted before November 24, 2008. Posters, fliers and other suitable reference materials are welcome - please contact the ODA Weed Control Program soon, as space is limited.
Dairy Air Task Force
Senate Bill 235 (2007) created the Dairy Air Quality Task Force to study the air emissions from Oregon dairy operations and evaluate options for reducing those emissions taking into account a number of potentially competing factors.
