What is proposed?

The Oregon Department of Agriculture (ODA) is proposing to approve a substantial change to an Animal Waste Management Plan (AWMP), as described in S.1 of the OR Confined Animal Feeding Operation (CAFO) National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) General Permit #01-2009 (CAFO Permit No, 01-2009), for an existing Large Concentrated CAFO dairy, Hazenberg Dairy. The CAFO is located in St. Paul, OR, 97137, Marion County, and is registered to CAFO Permit No. 01-2009 under Master Address No. 63138.

The substantial change to the AWMP consists of an increase in land application area.

Opportunity for public hearing
ODA will schedule and conduct a hearing on written request from at least ten (10) people, or from an organization or organizations representing at least to (10) people. ODA will provide at least 30 days advance notice of the hearing, if one is requested. If a hearing is held, the records will remain open for additional written comments for at least seven (7) days after the hearing.

ODA will review and consider all comments received during the comment period. Following this review, ODA may proceed as proposed, request that modifications be made to the updated AWMP, or not approve the AWMP.
