What is proposed?
The Oregon Department of Agriculture (ODA) is proposing to issue a new registration to the Confined Animal Feeding Operation (CAFO) National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) General Permit #01-2009 for a Small Confined goat dairy CAFO, Hammerich Goat Dairy, located at 305 Haskins Road, Bonanza, Oregon, in Klamath County. The CAFO NPDES General Permit #01-2009 regulates the manure, litter, and process waste water generated by CAFOs to ensure that CAFO activities do not harm water quality.

Opportunity for public hearing
A public hearing will be scheduled for the above
proposal if written requests are received during the comment period from
at least ten (10) persons or from an organization or organizations
representing at least ten (10) persons. If a hearing is scheduled, ODA
will provide at least 30 days notice before the hearing is held. The
public comment period will remain open for an additional seven (7) days
after the public hearing.

What happens next?
ODA will review and consider all comments received

permit coverage.
