 The Oregon International Air Show
U.S. Armed Forces Day honoring those who are currently serving or have served our country with complimentary admission to the Air Show on Sunday, July 30. This includes all active, retired and honorably discharged military. Just bring your DD214 or miliitary ID and a drivers license or other state-issued picture identification with you to the Show and you will be admitted at no charge.
Commissary Sale
A Commissary Sale will be held at the Jackson Armory, 6255 NE Cornfoot Road, in Portland on July 31 and Aug. 1-2, from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. In addition to canned goods, there will be fresh meat, produce, and seafood. National manufacturer's coupons honored. Shoppers are encouraged to bring coolers to store perishables. Shoppers must have a valid military ID card to shop.
Veterans' Appreciation Days -- Oregon State Fair
The 2009 Oregon State Fair is again offering FREE admission for U.S. Armed Forces veterans during Veterans’ Appreciation Days, Aug. 28-29. Celebration of Honor
Lincoln City Oregon will host a weekend long celebration from September 25-27. A rededication of the Desert Storm/Gulf War Veteran's Memorial will be held at Chinook Winds Casino. Lincoln City Mayor Lori Hollingsworth by proclamation has declared the fourth weekend in September to annually be Lincoln City's Celebration of Honor for United States military veterans and active duty personnel. All veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces, active duty personnel and their families are invited.
