Research and Requests

Introduction

The Research and Public Records Center supports data-informed decision-making and public transparency. The Research team analyzes data and evaluates programs to inform agency practices, while Public Records manages external requests and provides access to official agency records in accordance with Oregon law OAR 291-037..

Public Records Center

The Oregon Department of Corrections has launched an online system for submitting a public records request. This system is designed to make the request process more user-friendly, efficient, and transparent.

As part of this transition, DOC will no longer accept public records requests through the email addresses previously used. Instead, all requesters will be directed to submit their requests through the new Public Records Center. All communication regarding requests will also take place through the Public Records Center

The department is committed to responding to public records requests in accordance with the Public Records Law (ORS 192.324). All requests for DOC records must be submitted in writing and in accordance with OAR 291-037.
