LINCOLN CITY, ORE. -- The National Association of State Directors of Veteran Affairs (NASDVA) has elected Oregon Department of Veterans’ Affairs Director Jim Willis as the organization’s new senior vice president for 2011-12. Willis was elected during their annual conference held Sept. 23-25 at the Chinook Winds Resort. Willis served as NASVDA’s junior vice president in 2010-11. He has served as ODVA's director since 2003. The members of NASDVA are the chief executive officers or state directors of veterans’ affairs in each state as well as the District of Columbia, American Samoa, Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. Formed in 1946, NASDVA has been instrumental in federal and state legislation that has benefit veterans, their families and their survivors. NASVDA’s website is: www.nasdva.net ###
