Senate Bill 604 (2013) requires the Oregon Health Authority to establish a program and database for the purpose of providing credentialing organizations access to information necessary to credential or re-credential all health care practitioners in the State. SB 604 set the mandatory operational date as January 2016. A new bill, Senate Bill 594, was introduced and passed in 2015. It removes the mandatory operational date and allows the Oregon Health Authority to set the date by rule, provided that participants are given six months’ notice.
