Oregon's Car Care Program

The Oregon State Police, through a strong partnership with the Oregon State Sheriffs’ Association and the Oregon Association Chiefs of Police, has expanded the “Car Care” program to “Oregon’s Car Care” program. A special thanks to Governor Kate Brown, Oregon Department of Administrative Services, and Oregon Corrections Enterprises for their support with the expansion.

Now all City Police Officers, County Sheriff Deputies, and all Oregon State Police Troopers have the ability to issue an “Oregon Car Care” voucher that provides a discount on automotive parts purchased at any of the participating Auto Parts stores listed below.

To redeem the voucher choose from the auto parts stores listed below. You can click on their web link to find a location.

*** Some restrictions will apply, see specific vendors for more details.

We understand some individuals defer maintenance on their automobile to pay for other necessities, such as groceries and rent, and a minor equipment violation shouldn't get in their way.

The Oregon Car Care Program allows our agencies, in a small way, to assist individuals and families with improving the safety of their vehicle and our highways. Every Law Enforcement Officer understands they can influence the trajectory of a person’s life, which is why ‘Compassion’ is one of OSP’s core values.

Approximately 77% of these violations from OSP were due to “Operating without Required Lighting” (ORS 816.330). Required lighting includes all external lighting such as blinkers, headlights, and tail lights. These violations directly affect the safety of all vehicles on our roadways, and it’s to all our advantage to have these items fixed as soon as possible.
