Industrial Mobile Equipment Mechanic Apprenticeship Opportunities

Job Description

Heavy vehicle and mobile equipment service technicians inspect, maintain, and repair vehicles and machinery used in construction, farming, and other industries.

Working Conditions

Service technicians usually work indoors in noisy repair shops. They often lift heavy parts and tools, handle greasy and dirty equipment, and stand or lie in uncomfortable positions. Most service technicians work full time, and many work evenings and weekends.

Minimum Qualifications

Must be 18 years of age, a high school graduate or have obtained the equivalent GED certificate or have Post-Secondary credentials including an Associate’s degree, or be an employee of participating training agent, Employers may require job applicant to demonstrate ability to climb cranes to 60 feet, climb ladders to 30 feet and to lift 60 lbs. to a height of 48 inches.
