Good afternoon! What a beautiful space. Thank you to OnPoint Community Credit Union for inviting me to celebrate this exciting milestone with you.
OnPoint was founded almost 100 years ago right here in Portland, and you’ve been deeply committed to the central city ever since. You’ve grown alongside this community and now as Oregon’s largest credit union, you’re doubling down on that commitment with this incredible new location.
This building is a statement and it’s a clear one. It’s OnPoint saying: We believe in Portland. We believe in its future. And we're investing in its prosperity and the promise of the city’s entrepreneurial spirit. Thank you!
This new downtown location is a testament to OnPoint’s commitment to supporting Portland’s entrepreneurial spirit. It’s right here where small businesses and non-profit organizations will get the support they need to prosper in Oregon.
OnPoint is a strong community partner in so many ways. I want to thank Rob for serving as the public safety co-chair in my Central City Task Force almost three years ago. OnPoint is the top mortgage lender to individuals and families in the metro region, helping Oregonians buy homes and build wealth for their families. OnPoint supports over 50,000 businesses and nonprofits across our state. And OnPoint Plaza now creates space for community centered collaboration and growth.
And OnPoint gives back to the community in so many ways. Recognizing our educators. Investing in food and shelter. Supporting youth services, financial education, and our environment. Thank you for investing in this city we love.
To everyone here today, thank you for choosing Portland and Oregon as the place to build your life and your business. Exciting things are happening in this city. Just yesterday, we celebrated the bill that will lead us to modernizing Moda Center. A stunning new wing of the Portland Art Museum has opened. The Portland Fire are bringing WNBA basketball back to our city. Millions of dollars are being invested in community projects and revitalization across Portland.
Portland is on the rise! And having businesses like OnPoint – businesses that really believe in this city’s future – working hand in hand with future entrepreneurs right here will help keep the city’s renaissance on track.
