Livestock Districts (Open/Closed Range)

Livestock Districts are "closed range" areas wherein it is unlawful for livestock to be permitted to run at large.

The definitions, requirements and procedures related to Livestock Districts are defined by Oregon Revised Statutes Chapter 607.

Districts are created, annexed, or withdrawn by the governing body of the county in which the proposed district resides.

Incorporated cities are also livestock districts (ORS 607.008), as well as some portions of public road, as defined below:

When a county establishes or adjusts a district boundary, a copy of the public notice is sent to ODA.
