Call for Participation: ODA Nursery Research and Regulatory Advisory Committee

The Oregon Department of Agriculture (ODA) is now accepting applications to join our Nursery Research & Advisory Committee. This committee serves an important role in advising and consulting with the department on operations of the Nursery Program, which supports Oregon’s $1 billion Nursery & Greenhouse industry. As a member you will have the opportunity to learn and provide input on topics such as:
• Plant pest quarantines
• Plant pest response plans and regulatory issues
• Program finances, such as license fee adjustments and budget priorities
• Organizational structure
• Other emerging industry concerns

The ODA seeks to represent diverse segments of Oregon’s nursery industry. We are committed to assembling a committee that reflects the wide range of businesses, operations, and perspectives that make up Oregon’s nursery sector.
The committee will consist of seven (7) members representing different business sizes, business types, geographic regions, and roles within the industry, to ensure a broad and balanced perspective. Each member shall serve a term of 3-years.
We invite you to submit a letter of interest for consideration. Please also share this invitation with colleagues who may offer additional perspectives that would enrich the committee’s work. Letters of interest will be accepted until October 31, 2025.

Committee Meetings
• Meetings will initially be held virtually on a quarterly basis.
• Each session will last up to two hours.
• Frequency or duration may be adjusted based on program needs and committee availability.

Your input and participation will help ensure the program reflects the needs, priorities, and diversity of Oregon’s nursery industry.
Thank you for your consideration—we look forward to receiving your letter of interest. Please see link below to download the letter of interest.
