Mobilizations

Welcome to the Oregon State Fire Marshal Mobilization Page

The Oregon State Fire Marshal is dedicated to ensuring the safety of Oregonians by effectively managing and coordinating responses to emergency incidents across the state. A big part of this effort is our system of three all-hazard incident management teams (IMTs), made up of Oregon fire service and other government professionals with expertise in safety, public information, operations, planning, logistics, and communications.

Our incident management teams mobilize primarily in response to wildfires threatening lives and property but are equipped to handle a variety of other emergencies as well. Using the Incident Command System, these teams provide critical structure, support, and coordination to ongoing operations, ensuring a swift, organized, and safe response.

How We Respond

The Oregon Fire Mutual Aid System (OFMAS) is a statewide network that allows fire agencies to quickly share resources when large incidents occur. When local fire departments need extra help, they can request support from neighboring agencies. This system ensures that firefighters, equipment, and other resources are available when they are needed most. The Oregon State Fire Marshal coordinates these efforts, making sure that the right teams and resources are sent where they are needed to protect lives and property.
